Description
Plaza Madeira, formerly known as La Vie Funchal and Dolce Vita Funchal, is a shopping center located in Funchal, comprising 71 stores and 900 parking spaces.
It opened on October 23, 2007, and was the first Portuguese shopping mall designed according to bioclimatic architecture principles. Initially named Dolce Vita Funchal, it was an investment by the Spanish group Chamartín Imobiliaria costing €67 million.
In 2008, the shopping center was elected Best Development of the Year: Retail by the “Real Estate Oscar,” an award given by Revista Imobiliária.
